2024 Garden Gold Compost Prices (Taxes Included)

Compost is available in bagged, bulk and home delivery. If you are choosing home delivery, please note that same day delivery is not available.

2024 Garden Gold Compost Prices (taxes included):

Pre-bagged Garden Gold: $3.50 per bag or 4 bags for $12.00. (sold out for 2024)
Bag Your Own: $4.00 per bag (bag included)
Bulk Loads:
- Windsor Depot: $15.00 per cubic yard (mechanical loading provided)
- Kingsville Depot: $10.17 per cubic yard (mechanical loading provided)
Home Delivery in: Windsor, Essex, Lakeshore, LaSalle, Tecumseh - $79.95 delivery + $15.00 per cubic yard of compost.
Home Delivery in: Amherstburg, Kingsville, Leamington - $109.95 delivery + $15.00 per cubic yard of compost.

Same day delivery is not available.

Compost delivery is available for large quantity orders (e.g. 1 or more yards). Note: The following must occur in order to use this method:

Delivery is made through an appointment only, where the customer must be home to receive the delivery.
Prior to ordering compost for delivery, please use the compost calculator to determine how much compost you require, as the EWSWA will not determine how much you need. To use the calculator you will need to know: the length and width of the garden size in square feet as well as the depth in inches of compost needed.
Fill out the Compost Home Delivery Form (below) to request the quantity of compost and choose a delivery date.
Once the order is received the EWSWA will confirm delivery of compost with you and process the credit card payment over the phone.

Where To Buy Compost

Residents can purchase Garden Gold Compost at the Public Drop Off Depot (Windsor), the Transfer Station #2 (Kingsville) and by the Home Delivery program. Commercial customers can go to the Essex-Windsor Regional Landfill to purchase compost. While supplies last.

Note: At the Windsor and Kingsville sites, EWSWA staff will load the customer’s truck bed and/or trailer with a front-end loader bucket once they determine it is safe to do so. It Is best practice that the customer tarp their new load in order to ensure it does not blow away once they leave the site.

Compost Standards for Ontario

EWSWA's Garden Gold Compost must meet and comply with environmentally protective standards for the production of compost for beneficial uses. It must pass the "Compost Quality Analysis" as set out by the standards, which also complies with the regulatory framework of O. Reg. 347.
